Tell Me More

A 49-second leadership training film in an editorial collage style. It shows why answering every question fast ends the conversation, and how asking first brings the bad news early, while it is still small.

How it was made.

A soft-skills idea is hard to show. The director built it around one repeated moment, someone walking over with a problem, played twice with two different responses.

Short, specific and easy to drop into an onboarding course or a team newsletter.

Every Explainers film is made the same way: one sentence in, a storyboard you approve, then the director paints, voices, scores and animates it, and a critic model grades the cut before you see it.

Transcript

  1. Someone brings you a problem, and you know the answer, so you give it, fast, right, done, it feels like leadership, but every answer ends the conversation.
  2. So the team learns to bring you only what's finished, the rough idea, the early warning, the thing they're not sure of, none of it makes the walk over.
  3. Now try the other move. Before you answer, ask, what are you seeing? What would you try?
  4. A question hands the thinking back, it says, tell me the whole story, so they come closer.
  5. The bad news arrives early, while it's still small. The best leaders aren't the ones with all the answers, they're the ones who still hear the truth.
