Fieldline’s Q3 in 30 seconds, for the company all-hands.
Three wins: 120 new customers, drive time down 24% across all crews, and the Denver launch. One miss: the mobile app slipped to November. One bet for Q4: AI dispatch that re-plans the day on its own. Fast, punchy, fun, like a comic-book recap. End on the Fieldline logo and ‘On to Q4.’

Pitch film for Fieldline, a field-service scheduling startup, for a seed-round investor deck.
Problem: dispatchers for plumbers and electricians juggle 40 jobs a day on a whiteboard and crews lose hours driving across town. Fieldline routes every crew automatically and re-plans the day when an urgent job comes in, cutting drive time by 24%. Market: 300,000 small trade businesses in the US. End on the ask: raising $3M to launch in 10 cities, with the Fieldline logo.

Explaining something well used to take a studio: a writer, an illustrator, a narrator, a composer and an animator. Now it takes a sentence.
{Why it works}
From a product-UI walkthrough to a pop-comic quarterly recap, each one a full art direction, not a filter. Pick one, or let the director choose for the topic.
The director stops with the story, the look and every scene. Nothing is animated until you press Approve.
Ask the director in chat, or click anywhere on the video to leave a note at that exact moment. Every version is kept.
Every film is checked before you see it. If a cut isn’t good enough, the director fixes it and renders again. It won’t hand over less.
{How it actually works}
Type the question. Here: “How does a rainbow form?” in Risograph print, 30 seconds, narrated by Will.
Good afternoon. What should we explain?
The director stops with a one-line story, the look, a cast of one (Dot the raindrop) and eight scenes. Edit any of it, then approve.
A single raindrop named Dot catches a white sunbeam, bends it, bounces it and hands you one colour — and millions of Dots together paint the arc.

The scenes are painted, Will records the narration, a score is composed to the eight scenes, then it’s animated and mixed.

Reply in the chat, or pin a note on the video at 0:05. The director makes v2 and keeps v1.
A 1080p MP4, captions, subtitles and a poster. This film cost $6.88 to make. Need it vertical? Make a 9:16 take.
That’s the whole process. Your turn.

A finished, narrated, animated film. The director writes the concept and script, paints the art, records the narration, composes a score timed to the scenes, adds sound effects, animates, mixes and hands you something you can play and export.
About 15 minutes from one sentence to a finished film. It pauses once along the way so you can review the storyboard before anything is animated.
Before and after. Before: edit any scene in the storyboard, then approve. After: ask the director in chat, or click anywhere on the video to leave a note at that moment. Each change makes a new version (v1, v2…) and the old ones are kept.
27 art styles plus Auto, where the director picks. 79 narrator voices, native speakers for 16 languages, or let the director cast one for each film. 24 languages, from English and Lithuanian to Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Four audiences: general adults, professionals, students, and children aged 6–11. Frames: 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.
Yes, on a paid plan. A brand kit holds your colours, fonts, logo, tagline and end card. You can also upload your own characters, products or logo and the director will use them.
A second model watches the cut and scores it out of 10. It has to reach 8. Below that, the director fixes what the critic found and renders again.
Your first film is free, up to 45 seconds, with a small “Made with explain.film” mark. After that, paid plans come with monthly credits, and a 45-second film uses about 40. For comparison, typical agency quotes for 2D animated explainers run $1,500–$5,000 per finished minute.1
